Chocolate Protein Mug Cake With Chocolate Sauce
This is a high protein dessert with the healthiest chocolate sauce you can find. It also goes very well with this peanut butter, banana, protein ice cream.
You can use any flavour protein powder that you like. I've had great results with the following whey protein powder flavours: chocolate, vanilla, cookies and cream and peanut butter.
For a vegan friendly version, the milk can be substituted with any dairy free milk and the honey can be substituted with another sweetener of choice.
I opted to make a container full of chocolate sauce and store it so that it is ready for my next mug cake.
5 minutes to make. Serves 1.
Mug Cake Ingredients:
1/2 medium banana, mashed
1 tbsp peanut butter, or other nut butter
2 tbsp milk of your choosing
1 serving protein powder (dry)
Single Serving Chocolate Sauce Ingredients:
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp honey or other sweetener
Directions:
Place all the mug cake ingredients in a cup and mix well.
Microwave for 1-2 minutes depending on how moist or dry you like your cake.
Place the chocolate sauce ingredients in a second mug and microwave for 1 minute.
Stir the chocolate sauce well and pour over the cake.
(Optional) Add peanut butter, banana, protein ice cream.
